The short version
We collect only what we need to run the site, we never sell it, and homework text you type into the Decoder is automatically deleted from our logs after 90 days. Questions any time: yourmathmom@gmail.com.
"We" means Your Math Mom (Katie's tutoring practice) and Scaling Better, the studio that designs, builds, and operates yourmathmom.com and Homework Huddle.
What we collect, and why
- Contact form: your name, email, child's grade, interest, and message — so Katie can reply. We also record your IP address and browser info to filter spam.
- Homework Huddle account: when you sign in with Google, we store your Google account ID and email address, plus your plan and how many decodes you've used. We never see or store a password.
- Decoder inputs: the standard codes or homework descriptions you type are processed to generate your answer, and logged (with your IP) so we can spot abuse and improve the tool. These logs are automatically deleted after 90 days. Please don't include your child's name or other personal details in what you type — the tool doesn't need them.
- Payments: handled entirely by Stripe. We never see your card number — we store only your Stripe customer and subscription IDs so we can activate your plan.
We don't run advertising trackers or sell data to anyone, ever.
Who processes data on our behalf
- Cloudflare — hosts the site, stores our database, and delivers contact-form email.
- Google (Firebase Authentication) — powers "Sign in with Google."
- Anthropic — the AI service that generates Decoder and Challenge Corner answers. Your typed input is sent to Anthropic to produce the response.
- Stripe — processes subscription payments and hosts the customer billing portal.
Each of these receives only what it needs to do its job.
Children's privacy
Yourmathmom.com and Homework Huddle are built for parents and guardians — not for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Your choices
- Email us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
- Cancel a subscription any time from your Account page (the 👤 icon in the menu — it opens Stripe's billing portal).
- Deleting your Google sign-in access from your Google account settings stops all future collection tied to your account.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the effective date at the top and, for material changes affecting subscribers, note it on the site.
